Chun Ji Wantan Mee

One of the foods that I have enjoyed greatly over many years in Wantan (wonton noodles).

I like it even more when it is being eaten in some back lane of some dark obscure places when hygienic or rather than lack of it is no issue at all. The picture would have been made even more complete who some brown mix-breed dog lying around the store. I know of many guys who share this same philosophy with me.

I found this place in Stirling Road. The details are as follows…

Block 164 Stirling Road
#01-1200
Operating Hours
Thurs – Tues : 815am – 3pm
(Closed on Wed)

I enjoyed the surrounding very much. The food is cheap and above average. The noodles is quite different (lumpy but tasty) and the char siew is really well done. It costs $2.50 per plate. It washed down really well with a cup of kopi kau.

Though I had tried better Wonton Noodles before, I would go back just for the ambience. It is “ulu” and tucked away in some very old HDB block.

Check it out!

I first read of this word from the bible (Isa 47:8). The word means malicious or sexually lawless or excessively luxurious.

Did not know that they have wanton mee back in the bible times!

In addition to recommending good food, maybe you can also pray that God will rain down manna from heaven. In these times, what we really need is free food!

Wah Lau, I wish I was back in SG paying only $3 for wantan mee at most...

Here(in Oz) its so generic type- which cost A$10- and doesn't taste as nice. :P

If you like wantan mee, you must try its cousin in Kuching.. Kolo Mee!

But make sure you only eat it in Kuching. The ones in Singapore are so far from the real thing...

The Tai Hwa Bak Chor Mee is mee is one of the best. I am not sure if it is still available at Marina Square food court. I used to eat that one a lot. Very long queue though.
