Adults Camp 2008 (ACTSperience God!)

Wow! What a camp!

I have just come back from our Adults Camp in Shah Alam. There are so many blessings from this camp.

I will just share a few…

One distinct thing in this camp is the yearning in many hearts to seek God. Straight from Day 1, the hunger and the desire fro God is so evident. Many people were worshipping and praying with all their hearts. God will surely bless when we have hearts as such.

The next blessing is the closeness in the fellowship that I could sense. The time in KL city was really fun. Many people told me that it have been a long time that they enjoyed themselves so thoroughly with their care groups.

Mark & Sarah’s BGR testimony was superb. I shall never forget the honesty and humor and openness in it all. It was such a blessing!

Next, Pastor Simon’s altar call was really powerful. The presence of God is so tangible. Even not for time constraint, we could have gone on for hours.

Lastly, the P&W was madness! I cannot recall the last time I saw our adults praise and worship God as fervently and in such a energetic way as we did. The energy level was incredible. We could have light up the whole of Malaysia with the amount of energy in the room! We rock!

This is also a camp where I expend the most energy. It is just wonderful to spend time with so many people praising and worshipping God.

Thanks all for making this camp a crowning glory for Jesus! Our adults group and the whole church is certainly moving forward with Jesus. Great Kingdom work awaits us all.

Please share your blessings with me and the rest of the people as well. I will surely forward all your testimonies to our camp committee to encourage them as well!

Hey pastor! The praise and worship was indeed awesome! God's presence was so tangible and, boy, can adults JUMP during praise!

This was my first adults camp and it has indeed set the standard for future camps. Much thanks to the camp committee for organizing so excellently.

Cheers!

Hi Pastor Jeff

This was my first church camp and wow! it was a great experience! My care group certainly grew closer (not that we were not close before) but much much closer during the church camp and I truly love this family of God! Thank you for your teachings-am sure alot of hard work involved and enjoyed every bit of it! As usual, it was packed with "cold" jokes but we still enjoyed it! I am already looking forward to next year's church camp and i hope it will be dynamic as this year's. Hope you had a good rest. Cheers!

Hi Pastor Jeff,

I haven't been touched by God so tangibly for some time. God's presence and touch was so so strong. My spirit-man was revived thru God's answers to a few major decisions in my life.

Thank you pastor for your hard work and may God continue to show favor to you and your family and to our church too!

Lastly thank you for praying for me.

Hi Pastor Jeff,

The praise and worship was really wow. Tis is the first time i see many of the ple ard me including myself jumping with joy and singing at the top of our voices.

Thanks for being so real and the sincere heart to want to know each n every one of us. We were greatly blessed when u sat with us during breakfast.

I am also more convinced that this is the church i want to be in. A CG Church and not a Church with CG. I want to continue to grow and serve in tis family.

Yee har.. for a great adults camp. I asked many people who served in HopeKids who went to the camp about it and those who replied had great and positive things to say. It sounds like mouth watering goodness. Great job and well done!

Dear Ps jeff, loved what you said that 'P&W was madness'.
Haha. really encouraged by how fever the Indo grp were. Most of the whole bunch of them were first time in camp/probably newer believers and they were really on-fire/ filled with joy praising God!! so are the rest of course. And yes, the jumping spirit is back to the Adults who believed we can't/don't jump anymore. haha! It's certainly a breakthrough for many who seldom jump, and you just can't help it when you so touched by the love, joy n presence of God. :)

Btw, Ps Jeff like what you mentioned in camp, the Spirit of God was really moving and tangible throughout- all the words of prophesies, healing etc. First time witnessing so many first hand throughout the camp!! (even in workshops - I am truly amazed at God's work/tangible presence) And experience for myself that God could actually speak n transform so many of us at the same time in 1 camp!

Really thank God for speaking to everyone of us and touching us (our hearts) with His love and Presence! Personally, my heart was renewed and changed in the area of Love for people. (And will be tested through putting it to practise the WOG!). And not forgetting the people who preached(the teaching on CGs was crucial!), taught, shared the Word/testimonies, and use their spiritual giftings faithfully/in faith! whom God used. (oops, and not forgetting every single soul who Served front/back-ground to make our annual meeting possible!).

One thing I learnt/realized here is that what would make a different is actually how open/closed our hearts and minds are. The altar call part of Ps Simon time where many people were touched n responded, but i was troubled at heart& mind at that point in time, hence did not feel/response much. Likely that's why this camp was such powerful because many ppl were hungry and seeking God! and likely God melted and touched many hearts to open to Him along the way. People who did not participate fully may have missed out, but really hope they will continue to seek God coz God longs to speak and draw close to everyone of you.

Thinking were there any other factors that caused God's Spirit moving powerfully in this camp compared to others?? Was it the pre-camp prayers, the condition of ppl's heart were right or was it a revival?
Then we can have this in all our services and especially CG!

-Camp: A truly Awesome ACTS/Experiencing God-camp!! And wanting more! haha. The Spirit moving and the presence of God.
Lets do/have more with a start in our CGs and services. :) And we will have Acts 2:42-47 coming to reality. Amen.

(sorry for long/many words pastor..)

Thanks Rags for letting me know the good report :)

I enjoyed the KL experience a lot too. I enjoyed the fellowship and food very much.

Hi Jan, it is my pleasure to pray with you. You are very dear to me.

Hui Jun, I am so glad to have you in our family. You are much valued!

Hey Davina, I believed that it is more than just the camp events alone. I believe that our hearts have been soften during the many services and other evnets and it has culminated to the camp. In essence, our hearts are all very soft and in eager expectation from God:) That's so cool!

Hello, first of all i would like to express a big thank you to the camp committee, Eugene and team. i can see they made alot of efforts to make this camp a unique and experiential one. They arranged for lunch at a restaurant on our coach trip. its a mini chinese 8-9 course lunch! & the coaches also had much improvement since the last time. Aircon was working well + nice comfy seats. Hotel & meals arrangement was good too! These are all important logistics as campers need to be fresh for camp, also long travelling can cause backache. they really took much pain to organise.

workshop was much more interactive. program flow was good. and also thanks for arranging coaches to fetch us to KL to hv some casual time. we took the chance to celebrate 2 sisters bday. Had a great time! singing on the coach as well.. haha

im ministered by P&W and God, from day 1. its amazing. throughout the whole camp, god's presence was so strong in our CG n during response time. Ps Simon eng is truly a leader i look up to.. sharing much of his lives and the anointing is freely flowing. made my tears flowed too during alter call..

i see the team's heart of taking in campers feedback and making changes this year. really would like to say a big thank you! though i dont know them personally.

Most importantly, thank you Ps jeff for preaching your heart out. and being very much a part of the adults group. May you continue to lead us with god's wisdom and purpose.

bless,
shann

Hey Ps Jeff! Thanks for asking me how I was over the buffet dinner that day... much better now, was greatly renewed by God's presence! :) my spiritual dryness has been 'watered' by the Word during the camp... hee!

The preaching on unity in the CG really spoke to me a lot, and one practical point that I have already started applying is to have a positive spirit, 'cos that will refresh and encourage the hearts of everyone who comes.

Also got to grow deeper in friendship with a few dear bros in my unit. Very manly time of bonding - including the mandatory pillow fight and taupok therapy. You should try it too!

Also thank God no food poisoning! Hahaha... :P The food is very well-protected...

Workshop on Art of Connecting with Ppl was shiok. Terry's stories, esp those of Peru, helped us see how effective the principles are in building bridges. Workshop on Shrewd as a Serpent, Innocent as a Dove - the 3 instructors' real-life testimonies encouraged me a lot. Roleplay was great!

God's tangible presence is an understatement. The camp was refreshing, rejuvenating & definitely an impact to me, personally and as a CG. Thankful to all who made it possible and thank God for you and Claudia. I may have laughed through your sermons but the sincerity that ooze out of it speaks a mountain.

Thanks!
