Let Me Pray With You…

As a believer, one of the most satisfying things for me is to pray with others. As I have said before, there is just no way that any human being can completely meet the needs of another human being. Only God can do that!

That is why I am thankful for every opportunity that I get to pray with others. I believe in prayer because I believe in the One that I am praying to.

During the worship services, it is difficult to have the time to pray for many of you. So what I want to do in this entry is to ask you to let me have your prayer requests and needs. I will set aside time on Wednesday (20 February) at around noon to pray with you.

If you are comfortable about it, you can make your prayer points as specific as possible and even leave me your actual name. If not, just leave your initials (real or otherwise in a not so obvious way).

Either you are from Singapore or anywhere in the universe, I will pray along with you.

Please do not enter request that will be awkward for others in any other ways (e.g. pray that John Tan will quit his lying habit or that Mary Lim will marry me). They will be moderated and probably not made it to the comments posting.

Then after Wednesday’s prayer, I will write another entry on this blog for you to share your answered prayers so that all of us would be encouraged (especially me!)

God will answer our prayers in His right time and if it is good for us.

Matthew 16:19
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

WOW! Thank God so much for your heart to pray for us. Yes and amen, it's a sheer joy and privilege to pray with others! :D Think we all need to be encouraged that it really is a blessing, not only to the pray-ee, but also to the pray-er!

Hmm. I got a few prayer requests.
1. For a breakthrough in emotional strength and maturity this year, that God will help me train myself to draw strength and joy from Him and His promises everytime I feel melancholic. =)

2. For my friend KS, who should be coming this Sunday. He seems to be a seeker, 'cos he says he's interested in Christianity, but I don't think he has really heard the full gospel before. So please pray for his heart to be open and receptive to the full gospel, and for his mind to understand what it really means... :)

3. For wisdom and effectiveness in planning and preparing for some MM for the HopeKids June camp - that we can assemble a committed and enthu team by end Feb. :)

4. For all the children in HopeKids ministry to experience God's love and understand His character more this year =) and that God will help us get at least 10 more enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers by this year and help the HopeKids service expand to at least 200 (or was it 300?) kids by year's end too. :D

5. For the health and safety of our church planters in Africa - heard that food prices increasing very much and political situation quite unstable there.

6. For a rain-free (and mud-free) soccer match this Sunday for the HPL. For a safe and very enjoyable match too. And that none of us get any "ang-pow" too. :P

Thanks a doz Ps Jeff! Really touched by your heart for us. Do share with us any prayer requests that we can pray for you too... =)

Dear Pastor Jeff
thanks for opening your heart fro such a meanningful activity

First of all, I like to pray for a breakthrough in faith. I believe in God 99% of the time, but there's this really sticky 1% of me that has tiny but heavy doubts that's keeping me from having 100% faith in Him.

I pray to be convinced for sure about God and be able to go for the upcoming water baptism without a single worry.

I pray that if that happens, my non-Christians will consent my decision, and if they do not, find a God-honoring way to get around the problem.

I also like to pray for my church sister's mother who is diagonsed with cancer. May God heal her and restore her to good health.

Last but not least, I hope to receive God's will for me soon; to know my calling as I am undecided which career path I should pursue.

Thank you!

3) For God to soften the hearts of my family towards Christianity and eventually to come to know Him as their own personal saviour

Thanks a lot pastor Jeff :)

Hey Pastor Jeff
I'm from Hope church, tertiary service.
My mum is diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer, she just found out this week.
It's early stage.. please pray that God would set His healing hand on her and heal her completely and the cancer cells would not spread to other part of her body. And if possible just the surgery to remove her tumor can heal her .Hope she don't have to go through chemotherapy.

This is the second time she got cancer. 9 years ago she got blood cancer, and God healed her completely. And My brother and mother and I came to the Lord through that experience.

So please pray that God can do another miracle again and that my father can accept Christ this time.

I strongly believe God can heal her and that He put this trial for a purpose like what you taught in your sermon-" How to handle stressful time, I think it is really applicable to me.

Thank you

Please pray for one of the brothers that I know. He left church a few months ago. Please pray that he'll resolve whatever issues/problems he's facing (which I don't know of because he never shared them). Pray also for God's covering to be upon him and that he'll continue to seek and server Him. I don't know whether he's attending any church at the moment, so please pray that he'll be able to commit to a church. Thank you. God bless!

Dear Pastor Jeff,

Please pray for my family. My dad has a very big credit-card debt (a 6-digit debt) to pay off, and we don't know what to do here. Please pray for God to provide financially for my family so that my dad will not be trapped by his debt and able to pay off, and that his income will not drop in the next few months.

Please also pray for God to speak to his heart, because he's a Christian, but not a commited one... that God will help bring him back to Him through this experience.

Thank you so much for praying for us, Pastor. God bless you...

Pastor Jeff, thanks for your invitation to all of us to send you our prayer requests.

I'd like us all to pray that this year's US presidential elections would yield an astute leader who is able to moderate the conflicts and crises that are going on around the world as we know today.

For example, the pervasive tension in Palestine and rest of the Gulf, the nuclear threats from North Korea and other brewing conflicts happening in the world. We know that God will never totally remove all these problems in the world because Jesus has preached thus:

"When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first,"
-- Luke 21: 9a.

However, God created the notion of national authorities and bestowed the rulers and heads of governments with the powers to mitigate the effects of such conflicts to the world's populace.

I'd like us to pray that whoever heads the next US Cabinet be a Godly man/woman of discretion, vision, and a peacemaker who seeks not to further battles but to enhance the global cohesiveness of all communities.

Pastor Jeff,

Thank you for your heart to really want to pray for us! appreciated it...
Keep me in prayer in these area:

1. Focus on His ministry and pray for MALE shepherds and leaders to rise up! Pray for their willing heart to serve..

2. making some important decision in my life, and I seriously want to honor God, pray that God will lead and show His way.

3. Pray that God will protect and strengthen all the leaders, let us be strong and not be easily affected by trials...

Lastly, Dear Gracious Jesus, I uphold Pastor Jeff, and all the pastoral leaders onto your Hands . Be the leader in their lives, and help them to continue to be zealous about the work that You will lead them to do..they shall be the salt and light and will proclaim Your goodness whenever they go. Lord,Protect them and continue to nurture them to grow deeper in love, patience and always beingfilled with joy. In Jesus most precious name, we pray, amen.

" This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people, but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and your generosity in sharing with them and everyone else." 2Cor9:12-13
